After logging in to Boomportaal (see "How do I gain access to Boomportaal"), you need to activate the product you purchased. Upon purchase, you received an email with an activation code. Go to www.boomportaal.nl and click on your initials in the top right corner. Click on "My Access" and enter the activation code. Then click on "Catalog." You will have access to the product. The next time you visit Boomportaal, you will automatically have access after logging in.

Check your mailbox's spam folder. If you truly did not receive an email, contact klantenservice@boom.nl. 

If the organization you work for has purchased a license with Boom, you can use Boomportaal. Access is based on IP recognition. This means you can consult the resources from the workplace without logging in.

To use features like bookmarks, making notes, and marking publications as favorites, you need to create a personal Boom account. Log in to your personal environment on Boomportaal with this account.

How do I create a personal Boom account?

Click on "Login" in the top right corner, and register as a new user.

To use Boomportaal outside of your workplace, you need to activate home access. Do this by logging into your personal Boom account (see "How do I access Boomportaal at the office through my organization?"), clicking on "My Access," and selecting the orange button "Activate home access." Home access is valid for six months. Two weeks before it expires, a notification will appear in your account, allowing you to extend home access by six months with one click from your workplace.

If you received an activation code from the library, you can enter it on the "My Access" page. This also allows you to activate home access outside the workplace.

You can search Boomportaal using the search bar on the homepage or in the catalog. The search function scans the full text of all products, such as journals, databases, and books. When entering multiple search terms, it searches both the combination and the individual terms. Use the "Type" and "Domains" filters on the left to narrow or refine your results. Filters can be applied both before and after your search.

All publications can be accessed online. Journal articles can be printed and downloaded. These downloaded PDFs are for individual use only. Downloads should be accessed only on your own device. Sharing PDF files is not permitted. It is also possible to purchase a license allowing selected books to be downloaded for business use. For this, contact sales@boom.nl.   

New publications are usually added to Boomportaal at the same time as the printed version is released. Are you missing a Boom book on Boomportaal? Contact klantenservice@boom.nl. 

Unfortunately, access to the website associated with the book is only available to individual purchasers of the book.
